Magician in Buckinghamshire
Ian Souch is a professional magician based in Buckinghamshire, near some lovely towns like Marlow and Henley-Upon-Thames, Gerrards Cross, Beaconsfield and Amersham to name a few.
One of my favourite places to perform is Missenden Abbey, which was founded in 1133.
Some books featuring the town were ‘Nineteen Eighty Four’ by George Orwell and also ‘Good Omens’ by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.
This town is adjacent to the Chiltern and in 2008 was named Britain’s richest town by the Telegraph. As it’s close by to where I live, I do have a steady stream of bookings coming from there. Also, Sir Terry Pratchett was born in Beaconsfield.
I haven't performed at the picturesque parish church in Gerrards Cross, but it is worth a visit. It was built in 1861 and is dedicated to St. James. It has unusual designs with Byzantine style dome top and turrets that have a Chinese design style. I have performed magic in several local locations such as The Bull and Bellhouse hotels.
Marlow is a stunning town nestled next to the Thames river. I have performed magic in several local locations such as the Compleat Angler Hotel, Danesfield Hotel, Bisham Abbey and Harleyford Golf Club.
There is a magnificent suspension bridge in Marlow which links to Bisham and has been there a rather long time; since the reign of King Edward the 3rd.
Magician in Oxfordshire
Ian performs right across the county of Oxfordshire including Henley, Oxford , Abingdon , Blenheim Palace in Woodstock as well as Raymond Blanc’s beautiful restaurant in Great Milton.
Henley is famous for its rowing and I have had the honour for performing for the famous Olympic rower, Sir Steve Redgrave and his family.
I have entertained in several local locations such as the Phyllis Court and Loch Fyne restaurant in the centre of the town. Popular as places to hold varied events are golf courses and I have numerous bookings with Badgemore Golf Club.
Oxford has also been called the ‘city of dreaming spires' due to the harmonious architecture of the Oxford university buildings.Apparently some very clever people have studied here including 26 British prime ministers, 120 Olympic medal winners as well as 50 Nobel prize winners!.
This town is south of Oxford and has had its population settled there since the early Saxon period. It features the ruins of the beautiful Abingdon Abbey.I kayaked on the Thames through Abingdon once and it was such a lovely aspect of the town. I wasn’t doing magic on the kayak mind you!
Magician in Berkshire
Berkshire has many famous and picturesque towns where I perform such as Maidenhead , Reading , Ascot , Slough, Windsor and Newbury.
Maidenhead is a great town for quick connections to London and Heathrow airport. It is swiftly growing due to the connection to cross rail. I often go to Maidenhead station to head into London Paddington for my gigs in London.
However, Maidenhead has a variety of great places to have your functions such as Taplow House in Monkey Island and Stoke Place.
Here is a quirky thing about this town. Ghandi came to the town and had some tea and cake and meditation!Reading is a busy town with so much going on and great theatre. I have performed magic in several local locations such as the French Horn restaurant, Microsoft , Madjeski stadium as well as my Mentalism stand up show at the Shinfield Players and the South Street Theatre.
Ascot is a busy little town famous for its horse racing. Ascot Racecourse has over 500,000 visitors a year. The racecourse is not the only place to visit. You can visit the Berystede Hotel and Coworth Park where I have worked before and also Thorpe Park is close by.
Windsor Castle and is one of the Royal residences. Here a unusual fact: There was a real threat that the castle would be bombed during the 2nd World war so many valuables were moved to a different location and royal bedrooms were increased in strength to withstand shelling. People were led to believe that the Royal family were staying in Buckingham Palace, but were in fact still living at Windsor Castle.
